Authentic Hand Written/Signed Letter From Horace Greeley Oct 25, 1851 Historic. This is a Historically significant hand-written letter from Horace Greeley to someone in Philadelphia Pa. In it Greeley is lamenting the difficult economic circumstances of the time and their implications for his own business endeavor, the New York Tribune. Greeley is clearly formulating and reworking one of his key and most memorable ideas, Go West Young Man, when he writes There must be a large migration from the cities to the country. This letter is 6 7/8 inches in length and 4 3/8 inches wide.
It is nicely conserved and presented with an acid free black backing and clear plexiglass cover measuring 9"x7 1/2". There are two apparent fold marks, probably original to the piece. At the bottom I've provided a scan of the letter for your perusal. There were a few words I couldn't deciper.
BE SURE TO CHECK OUT MY OTHER AUCTIONS. I strive to receive 5/5!!That's they're new system. Heavier items will cost more. So I do sometimes add a couple of dollars to the cost to cover myself.
I guarantee everything I sell. However, I go to great lengths to provide correct measurements and nice big pictures of every detail. If you fail to do so, or the piece doesn't fit properly, I'm sorry, but there's nothing I can do. However, I sometimes don't get around to leaving the feedback for a week or so.
