It mentions the death of Thomas Merton and has "warmest wishes for a better'71 than this terrible'70 we're leaving---". It is signed "Ida joins me Studs".
This single page letter was written in blue ink to "Dear Ping". It is about interviews Studs will be doing and that he refused to interview "Ashmore".
"Never fear - Terkel's here" is included in the 1st paragraph and is signed "Yours - Studs". Yes, the letters and signatures are authentic. My local book dealer and collector carefully compared this to his Studs Terkel signed books and researching the content of these letters, that they are authentic. These are in excellent condition, still crisp and clean.
The paper has toned a bit and the letter in blue ink has been folded. Please view my photographs for more description.
