It amazes me the huge effort that you are making. I can already see visible improvements. The challenge is enormous but I have no doubt that you will be victorious.
I congratulate all the Vietnamese for their lack of dogmas, their audacity and their bravery. As the capitalism is a disaster and the biggest one to blame for our ills, I will leave your country with more faith in the socialism and in the role of the political Party, the only one capable of establishing rationality and order in the middle of this immense worldwide chaos that is surrounding us. Please, allow me to thank you deeply for all the gestures received by the Cuban delegation and, in particular, for all your noble and courteous gestures towards me. I look forward to seeing you in Cuba as soon as you can come so we can express all our affection and appreciation towards you and your country. The victory once more is waiting for you. During this time, Fidel Castro also officially visited China, Denmark, Japan and Canada. It looks like Fidel wrote this letter on the day he was departing Ho Chi Minh. From Vietnam, he went directly to Tokyo, Japan, where he met with the Japanese Prime Minister, Tomiichi Murayama, arriving 3 days later, on 15th December 1995, back in Cuba. Fidel taught Cuba to love Vietnam. He always proclaimed his deepest admiration, affection and respect for the courage, resilience and strength the Vietnamese had to fight and free their country from all their invaders (first, the French, later the Americans).
Fidel also publicly condemned, on many occasions, the invaders of Vietnam. Fidel always encouraged the friendship between Cuba and Vietnam and this friendship between both countries grew stronger as time went by. Fidel visited Vietnam on 3 occasions. His first visit was in September 1973 at that time, Vietnam was in war. His second visit was in December 1995 this is the time when this letter was written. His final visit was in 2003. Cuba played an important role in the rebuilding of Vietnam after the war. Cuba even financed some of the restructuring projects. Also, Fidel Castro was the main supporter for Vietnam to join the UN in 1977. The Vietnamese leaders also visited Cuba on numerous occasions and it is interesting that the last worldwide leader that Fidel met before he died in 2016 was the Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang with whom Fidel met in Havana on 16th November 2016. Fidel Castro died only a few days later on 25th November 2016. The item "RARE Fidel Castro Hand Written Signed Letter To Vietnam 1995" is in sale since Thursday, January 23, 2020.
