Senate letterhead, Washington, 1954 January 27. The letter was typed by Evelyn Lincoln, JFKs private secretary for twelve years (JFK:el). The letter in full: Dear Dick: Thank you very much for your recent letter inviting me to attend the annual Banquet and Ball of the Mt. Benedict Council, Knights of Columbus on April 22. I will, however, be very glad to meet with your organization some time this Fall after the adjournment of Congress.
